Why is the press protected under the First Amendment to the Constitution? What is the purpose of the “Free Press”? The answer to both questions is that the intent of the Founders was to have a “Free Press” that would accept the responsibility of actually being the FOURTH ESTATE of our governmental system, that a “Free Press” would be the biggest “Check and Balance” on a government bound to be run by imperfect individuals……….politicians and lawyers. How would the Press accomplish that task? By exposing every corrupt dealing of government. By merely telling the truth and letting the chips fall where they may.

But the Press has failed. Instead of doing the job that they were appointed to do, they have folded into being a part, the biggest part of the problem. Instead of exposing crimes and corruption within government, they have become part of a protection racket for the very corruption that they are supposed to expose.

You might have heard the terms “Lame-Stream Media” or “Fake News,” which refer to the protection racket of the Left. The examples of such fakeness have been pointed out constantly ever since the rise of Rush. But what about the other side of the coin? What about the “Lame-Stream Media” or “Fake News” of the Right? While they started out running way behind their Left-Wing counterparts, they are driving hard down the backstretch trying to catch up and protect their Right-Wing Masters just as well as the Leftist Media protects theirs.

The latest amusing example of the Right-Wing Protectionist Media and how they operate is the battle between HOT Government and Meg Ellefson (WSAU Talk Radio Show) and friends. It started with Meg taking the position (I wonder how she got to that point? Did she have an epiphany or was one thrust upon her? ) of protecting her Republican friends, who are supporting the very unpopular ROFR legislation. HOT Government, a non-partisan government watchdog group, did their research and documented tons of CASH flowing from the Energy Companies and into the pockets of both Republican and Democrat political operatives. HOT then asked the questions that need to be asked about the relationship between the CASH and the POLITICAL SUPPORT being given to ROFR.

Then the fun started. Meg jumped on the air to defend the apparent ROFR corruption by name calling in an attempt to defame and discredit HOT Government. HOT responded with Press Release #1 giving Meg and her buddies a slap on the knuckles. Then another radio show. This time the whole show was dedicated to Meg and her guest, State Senator Cory Tomczyk, bad mouthing HOT and (paraphrasing here) saying that neither HOT nor anybody else should be attacking the Republicans. Our corruption is Righteous! Then Press Release #2 is sent out. And the game continues.

Point #1 is that the “Conservative” media that a lot of you listen to, is just as bad, just as slanted as their counterparts on the Left. It’s not just Meg. It’s all of them. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t listen. I’m saying that every once in a while you should brush the pile of crap that they’re shoveling off of your head.

Point #2 is that if BOTH sets of Media fulfilled the responsibility delegated to them by the US Constitution, if they put the interest of The People before that of their corrupt partners, we wouldn’t be waiting for a $40Trillion Debt to CRUSH our economy and throw the World into a depression that will make the 1930’s look like a vacation.

Do you think that Meg and Dan and Jay and all the rest will take credit for that?
